“By the time Lucy Baldwin realized she was not alone in the water, it was way too late. The first shark, the alpha female, reached Lucy ahead of the others. Gray body breaching the surface, she opened her maw and clamped down on Lucy’s abdomen; biting her firmly as if to hold her just long enough for four of her brethren to clamp down on Lucy’s arms and legs. With the prey held firm, the alpha leader bit down hard, severing a crescent shaped chunk of flesh. Then, as if in some gruesome ballet, the four sharks ripped poor Lucy apart, her head and rest of her torso cut free to sink but a few feet before it too, was devoured.
And then it was over, as quick as it started. The lake was again still.”

"Exciting book! Greatly Written, I love it! Carducci did a great job writing this novel. All the suspense left me reading until the very end, I just couldn't put it down. Every page just left me on the edge of my seat."

"Exciting novel! This is a great early work by a promising author with a creative mind and ear for captivating storytelling. The story is a shark thriller, set in the great lakes system near Detroit. Carducci exhibits his expert familiarity with the area while bending reality enough to make you wonder, what if? There were some grammatical errors which I imagine with be corrected as Carducci grows and develops his commanding writing style. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to get lost in a suspenseful and sometimes horrifying adventure on the lake."

"Fascinating page-turner. As someone who was raised in Motown, I cannot imagine a killer predator un-leased in the Detroit River! However, the author (Carducci) creates a scenario where these sharks survive and thrive in the "gritty" waters between Lake Erie and Lake Huron...to the shocking peril of unsuspecting humans. This level of imagination, in an well-crafted story, spawns (see what I did there) terror throughout SE Michigan and along the Southern Ontario shoreline. A great summer read."
